Frequently Asked Questions

What is 3D Printing?

3D Printing is a fabrication process where a user can translate a 3D design into a usable real-life model. This is done via a specialised plastic extrusion machine that slowly builds layers-on-layers until the model is complete.

How long does it take?

A single design can take anywhere from a few minutes to several days to print. It can highly depend on the volume and intricacy of the design. The prices of products on this website mostly reflect the amount of time and materials it takes to print each of the models.

What are you selling?

We sell 3D-printed items and accessories specifically for airsoft guns, or any purposes related to airsoft. As we merely sell accessories, you do not need a UKARA to purchase these items.

How strong are the prints?

We produce our models in either PLA+ (A special blend of Polyactic Acid mixed with Acrylic Resins and Calcium Carbonate) or PA-12 CF (a type of Nylon with added carbon fibre filaments for increased strength). PLA+ is the cheaper option for more every-day items, and PA-12 is a much more durable material for high-performance needs. Have a look at the material descriptors on each of the product pages for more information on the materials avalible for the individual items.

How long will it take for my order to print?

The estimated printing and finishing times are stated on each of the product pages. However, almost all prints are printed within 7 days of ordering. This will vary depending on how many orders are in the queue, the overall printing time, and if any components need to be outsourced during production. All models are made to-order. We will send an email after you order, and another once the print is finished and has been packed and shipped.

My item dosen't fit, what can I do?

If you're having a hard time fitting your item, or it does not appear to fit; please first double-check the branding of your gun and any instructions provided with the item. Currently, all our P90 products are compatable all brands of P90, except for gas-powered P90s. Meanwhile our items designed got Glocks are designed to work with ASG, KWA, or KSC-brand Glocks. We may be able to make edits to the designs so please feel free to contact us regarding this before you order.

If the gun is the right brand and is supposed to fit, but doesn’t, we can also offer a refund if it's sent back. We obviously try our best and test the items on as many guns as possible, but sometimes certain brands or models slip under the radar. Just send us an email at pancakecustoms@gmail.com and we can get a refund going. If you own a pair of electric callipers, you may be able to help develop a version of the item which will work with your specific gun!

Additonally, these plastics respond well to edits. So sanding, filing, cutting, etc. the pieces can work if enough care and attention is given.

I have a great idea of something that could be made! Can I share it?

If you pop us an email at pancakecustoms@gmail.com, we'd love to hear any ideas or suggestions you may have. Please keep in mind we can't take every suggestion into consideration as it can take weeks or even months to design and prototype a single model.

A part I had bought has since broken. Can I get a replacement for a specific part?

Just send us an email at pancakecustoms@gmail.com explaining which part broke (with pictures), and we'll be able to draw up a discounted invoice to produce just the broken part again. It saves you from needing to buy the whole thing again! We may also ask for an order number for the original purchase, or a date in which you bought the original item. Keep in mind that not all parts may be re-printable. Pancake Customs cannot be held responsible for any damage sustained to your purchases once they have been brought onto an airsoft field, or have been opened up/tampered with/customised in any way.

Can I paint my model?

For most of our models, we recommend painting! Coating them in a layer of car filler spray paint (or just sanding them a bit) can help with concealing the small layer lines that appear during printing. After that, you can get as creative as you want! Most types of paint should work, though spray paint is reccomended. Using a layer of primer also helps gain more accurate colours on the default-black plastic. Just keep in mind if you post-proccess them too much, you may lose some of the original tolerences.

My item looks a little bit different to the pictures, what gives?

We are always revisiting designs and making improvements and tweaks so they are stronger and better. Sometimes small changes like the shape of a handle or the depth of a notch may change. These don't affect the dimentions of the item and will function exactly as they would have before. If any major visual changes happen to any designs, we will update the pictures promptly.

Note: We reserve the right to cancel orders (with refund) for any reason, and without needing to provide a reason. Prices for items may change to reflect material costs, demand, design changes, and postage costs.
